Virginia Piping & Drumming School, with Fred Morrison

By Kayla Harper –

This is the 10th anniversary of the Piping Centre’s Virginia school, and it’s the first we’ve had an alternative piping course! The school this year runs from June 17th through June 22nd at Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA, with the option of taking the whole week or just a half week, which would run from the Sunday to Wednesday.

Fred Morrison will be teaching bellows piping (primarily smallpipes and border pipes) as well as whistle.  There will be options for beginner students as well, so we encourage all levels to register.  We’re very excited to have Fred on board and look to more possibilities in the future!

Registration is via the National Piping Centre’s website at the following link:

I’ve been informed that Uilleann Piping would also be an option! On registering, all you have to do is state in the comments which classes you are signing up for. The Piping Centre’s website should be updated very soon.
