EJ Jones, award-winning professional piper, performer, recording artist and smallpipe maker will be in Denver on Feb 25 to conduct an all day workshop as an Introduction to Scottish Smallpipes. The general public is invited and a special invitation is extended to highland pipers. EJ will discuss the following topics: History of the alternative pipes, differences in construction, bellows-blown pipes technique, differences in playing styles between alternative and highland pipes, playing with other instruments, how to form your own Celtic music group. In addition, EJ will introduce a few tunes that highlight the expression and musicality of the smallpipes.
